Hospital Bag - What to bring?

Hospital Bag - What to bring? Yes we are welcoming our second child and this isn’t our first rodeo, but it has been nearly three years since we packed a hospital bag and when I think back to our time in the hospital, those details feel like a blur. Thank goodness for our friends on social media that helped me brainstorm hospital bag items and jogged my memory. With that, here’s what we have packed for the hospital:

Hospital Bag - What to bring?

For Baby

  • Car seat
  • Swaddle
  • Burp cloths/receiving blankets
  • Sleeper and hat
  • Diapers, wipes, bum cream (I have been told you can save and use the hospital resources in most cases - though I can’t remember).

For Mom

  • Health Card
  • Robe
  • Cozy socks
  • Change of clothes (Romper - if you know me you know I live in these)
  • Peri bottle
  • Nipple cream
  • Adult diapers/pads
  • Toiletries (Hairbrush, moisturizer, face wipes, hair elastics, lip balm, tooth brush, toothpaste, deodorant)

For Partner

  • Pillow
  • Blanket
  • Change of clothes
  • Toiletries

For Everyone

  • Water bottles
  • Snacks
  • Phone charger

We packed our hospital bag and installed the car seat at about week 36 of pregnancy. With only a few weeks to go give or take, I’ll be sure to make any updates to this post if there’s anything we missed on this episode of Hospital Bag - What to bring? Until then, we shall wait and I will plan my first postpartum meal: Sushi. Orders up for all the salmon sushi, salmon sashimi, salmon roses and salmon handrolls I can get my hands on.

These nine months are filled with some of the longest days, yet it feels like you're welcoming baby in the blink of an eye. Looking for a way to hold on to all these special pregnancy memories? Check out our pregnancy journals and ultrasound art today!

In one of my ‘ah-ha’ moments, I emptied the jar of blooms on a blank sheet of paper and arranged each piece carefully across the page
