The one about the vows

My husband and I were married in September 2019. In the months leading up to our wedding day, we spent many evenings crafting our vows together. We wrote one piece that embodied all we would commit to one another and on our wedding day we would alternate saying each line.

We enjoyed the time spent together thinking about all that was important to us for our marriage and our future. It was not only a memorable experience for us but we also avoided the potential difference in tone of someone proclaiming their most heartfelt thoughts and the other vowing to always make coffee in the morning (you know you’ve seen it happen).

In the most unromantic way possible, we each had a printed copy of our vows with our sections highlighted throughout and to this day I could not tell you where those pieces of paper landed. Thank goodness for the computer.

How are wedding vows arguably the most important part of any wedding, yet are often missed from the recap and the keepsakes that encapsulate the day? I was equally as guilty for this. You would walk into our living room and find a wall full of photos of our wedding party and family, some ‘candid’ shots of us kissing by the river, and the dried blooms from my bouquet in a shadow box surrounding a photo of us staring into each other's eyes. There is no doubt that they are stunning photos and some of our favourites we have, but that being said, it’s so easy to miss out on some of the truly most important moments - the rawness of the commitment you make to one another.

So when a friend of mine came to me and asked if I could create something where she could display her vows, I couldn’t help but think this is something I would love to have in our own home but also permanently add to our shop.

Away to Adobe InDesign and Photoshop I went and here you have our custom wedding vow art, personalized with your vows, wedding date, first names and photo from your special day. This piece of art truly encapsulates your commitment to each other - your names, anniversary, one of your favourite photos and the promises you have made to one another.

Valentine's Day is just over a month away. Win the day and knock your partner’s socks off with this beautiful piece of personalized art. Each piece of art is $40 and comes printed on a 12X16 piece of card stock in black and white. Valentine’s Day orders must be made by February 5 to be shipped and in your hands by February 14. So what are you waiting for? Place your order today.

In one of my ‘ah-ha’ moments, I emptied the jar of blooms on a blank sheet of paper and arranged each piece carefully across the page
